In this four day intensive workshop we will explore the surprising and inventive potentials of viscosity printing using oil based inks.

Viscosity printing begins with the odd characteristic of inks (and other fluids) that the application of a slippery (i.e. loose) ink will prevent a stickier (more viscous) ink from being laid down over it — the stickier ink will simply roll over the less viscous ink. Therefore by controlling the placement and viscosity of the inks, one can quickly build complex relationships of form and color on the monotype plate.

Appropriate for beginner through advanced artists.
