Drawing from surrounding nature and my environment on cape cod, my work reflects my experiences in abstractions of color, light, and texture. I layer images often to interpret a time lapse of season or to bring into focus my personal connection to nature or a place or event.

Most of my work today is monoprint with several layers of transparent color and overlays of images with different plates.

My work method has recently been in woodcut however; I often use woodcut, etching, solarplate and stencils together and collage pieces of several prints culminating in one piece.

Alice Nicholson Galick lives in East Falmouth Ma. and came to Cape Cod after a career of teaching art in Connecticut, Virginia and North Carolina.

Introduced to printmaking during the1970s renaissance of printmaking in graduate school, she has also worked in artist’s assistantships at Penland in North Carolina and participated in workshops around New England and abroad.

A member of Boston Printmakers, Printmakers of Cape Cod, Monotype Guild of New England, and PAAM.

She has participated in invitational and solo shows, and won awards in many juried and National shows. Her work is in collections public and private around the US and Europe.
