Doyle was born and raised on a small farm in Connecticut. She attended UMass Amherst and Southern Connecticut University majoring in art education. Moving to Cape Cod, she taught in public schools and was well known as an illustrator of poster calendars. She is a founding member of the digital collaborative group ArtSynergies.
Computers have put the medium of digital photography in dialogue with painting, print-making and other kinds of traditional art. Each of Doyle’s alternative images begins as one or more photos. She shoots mainly with an iPhone camera and uses a limited number of apps to reflect her sensibilities and understanding of the history of art and photography. Her interest is to combine photography with hands-on transfer processes.
