STATEMENT:
My monotypes, etchings, encaustics and oils examine ubiquitous quirks found in nature, and fix in time the face of the beloved. Things in nature transmute, a serene refuge of the spirit one day, drastically altered the next. Recent work scrutinizes the crevices and creatures revealed at low tide when the receding ocean sculpts its accidental rhythms. I use oil base etching inks, oilbars and 18” rollers to create viscosity monotypes with layers of ink and random image fragments.
