Richard Kochanek is an emeritus professor in the Accounting Department at The University of Connecticut He received his B.B.A. and M.B.A. degrees from the University of Massachusetts and his Ph.D. degree from the University of Missouri. He joined the faculty at The University of Connecticut in 1972 and retired in December 2015.

Dick always had a love for expression as an artist. From 2001 to 2008, he took the great opportunity to sit in classes with faculty from the Art Department at UConn. Starting with basic drawing to watercolor, oil painting, and printmaking (intaglio, lithography, screen, woodcuts). Dick believes that conceptualizing and creating works of original art has translated into a greater sensitivity and passion for all aspects of his life. He is a juried artist member of the Cape Cod Art Association, a member of The Printmakers of Cape Cod, and a member of the Falmouth Artist Guild located on Cape Cod. His work is regularly accepted and has received awards in juried shows in Connecticut and Massachusetts.

At this point in his life, Dick’s greatest message to share is the realization of the enormous pool of talent that exists within each of us. To explore this inner talent, to grow as individuals each day, and to reach greater levels of expression: This is my fondest wish for all of us.
